Choose your membership

Most people join as an Associate. Pick single or couple, then the fee for your age. Fees run for the club year, 1 July to 30 June.

Associate Single

Open to anyone. No military service required, no sponsor needed.

Associate Couple

For two people at the same address. Both get full member benefits.

Youth, Returned, Service and Women's Section memberships

Youth

Open to young people aged 13 to 17. A parent or guardian must countersign the application.

Returned Members

Open to those who have served in the New Zealand Armed Forces or Allied Forces.

  2. Enter your card details on Stripe's secure checkout page.
  3. A receipt comes straight to your email, and your membership card follows in the post within a few business days.

Payments are processed by Stripe. The Birkenhead RSA never sees or stores your card details.

Then email manager@birkenheadrsa.com with your name, membership and transfer date so the office can process it. For an eligibility-based membership, add a line about your service.

After you join

Here is what happens once you have paid.

  1. Your receipt and card

    Pay online and the receipt reaches your inbox straight away. Your membership card is posted within a few business days.

  2. Your first visit

    Show your card at the door. Friday and Saturday nights have live music, and Tuesday is jazz night; see what's on.

  3. Bringing people with you

    As a member you can bring guests in with you, and your card gets you into affiliated RSA and returned-services clubs around New Zealand.

  4. Someone to ask

Membership FAQs

When does the membership year run?
The membership year runs from 1 July to 30 June each year. New members joining mid-year pay the full annual fee.
Can anyone become an Associate member?
Yes. Associate membership is open to everyone, regardless of military service. No sponsor is required.
Can I visit other RSA clubs?
Yes. As a member of the Birkenhead RSA you have reciprocal visiting rights at affiliated RSA and returned-services clubs throughout New Zealand.
How do I get my membership card?
Your card is posted to you after your application is processed, usually within a few business days of paying online. For bank transfer payments, please email us after transferring so we can process your application promptly.
What if I need the postal renewal sticker?
When renewing by bank transfer, add $2.00 to your payment to cover postal delivery of the renewal sticker.
How do I renew my membership?
Pay the annual fee by bank transfer to the renewal account shown in the "Renew your membership" section below, quoting your membership card number as the reference.
